PS Steve. Are you saying my v1.02.09 should be OK?
I don't know if you remember pointing me in the direction of the v1.02.13 update last year, which broke my WLAN (and several others now I have since re-googled for this)
Trouble is, the fix for it (v1.02.14) which contains this
Enabled ITU G.992.5 Annex M which extends the capability of basic ADSL2 by doubling the number of upstream bits.
doesn't seem to have cured the WLAN problem for a lot of people, and I think I need that fix also for Be?

Yes it should be fine when i used it i had no problem, if your going to use it straight away don't forget to put the Be/02 box MAC address in the Netgear you will be able to put it in once you choose No to " Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?" on basic settings page.

So I can switch over as seamlessly as possible, should I be able to use UberGT straight away even when I am on Orange? I couldn't even get my router to attempt to sign on with the default settings?

Hi sweeperdog
Yes you should be able to use the UberGT firmware with Orange leave the adsl advanced settings to multimode (default) and also when u change, all u will need to do is input the 02 settings.
Do you know when your changing?

Yeah I've just tried all that and it didn't work. I just get this looping in the log
Sat, 2000-01-01 00:00:23 - Initialize LCP.
Sat, 2000-01-01 00:00:23 - LCP is allowed to come up.
with no mention of CHAP authentication success or failure
I tried Multimode (default) and G.DMT (which is what I think is what Orange is anyway). I get this appearing on my status page
. Modem Status Connected
. DownStream Connection Speed 2272 kbps
. UpStream Connection Speed 288 kbps
which is fine, but not sure why it won't attempt to sign on.
I am supposed to be going over on Tuesday, although the order in my BT page doesn't look too promising for this to happen (the job isn't "booked" yet). I hope I am proved wrong!

I used to get that all the time with Orange, did you use the wizard to detect the settings first then all you should need is ur Orange username and passord but is spose with them its too straightforward lol.Have you reset the router since you installed the firmware? sometimes that helps
btw what firmware did you opt fot the UberGT or the GaTi

Glad you experienced the same on Orange!
No I just updated the firmware and it remembered my logon details - I didn't want to reset just yet as I didn't want to reconfigure evertyhing just yet
Thanks!
Is that found using the link you gave me a few steps back?
I did try another one
V1.02.09 - DGTeam Rev. 0743
which had a few extra bells and whistles on how the information is presented (e.g. slider bars as well as entry fields) but that just behaved in the same way
I guess I would have to reset the router fully, but since this firmware isn't going to be any use to me until I'm migrated then I will resist the urge to play until then
