Hey guys wonder if you can help me, i have had a 2.5mb connection with Orange for the last year with no problems, but since last week my connection has dropped to a half meg, asfter 5 phone calls " total waste of time" no one can help me. I have posted my router settings, can anyone tell me if i have been capped.
from what I remember, you use your Orange username & password.
hey there done the test, here are the results
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 3840 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 456 kbps
Looks like my IP profile is the issue, from what i can tell
Correct......The drop usually is a result of a significant amount of noise over a short period of time but as your SNRM in the earlier post was 5.6dB it looks like it has recovered.
If you have a NTE5 main linebox with the test socket inside, unplug the router for 5 minutes then re-plug into the test socket and run both stats and BT speedtester again.

Hey thanks for your help on this one, got it fixed turned out, there was a fault on the line and BT had capped everyone to 0.5mb while the work was done and never reset mines back to 2.5mb, i have now done speed tests and it turns out my line is upto 3mb now turns out if you find the issue out yourself Orange will be able to fix it, but there technical staff should be re-trained.
