But , if I understand you right, aren't I screwed whoever I sign up with? - I have no way of knowing who's buying how much bandwidth from BT, or do I??
YOU SEE Orange PROBERBLY'S HAD MORE CUSTOMER'S 3 YEARS AGO,SO THEY HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY FOR THE BANDWIDTH,BUT AS PEAPLE LEAVE TO OTHER BB PROVIDER'S THERE FACING A HIGH EXPENCE FROM BTBT NOT ENOUGH CUSTOMER'S TO PAY FOR IT HENCE THE DROP IN SPEED'S IN THE BUSY PERIOD,UNTILL THEY GET ENOUGH CUSTOMER'S DEMANDING THERE PRODUCT THEY WONT INSTALL THERE OWN LLU NETWORK IN THE EXCHANGE.

LOOK'S LIKE THE BEST OPTION,SEE WHERE I AM YEAR'S AGO MOST PEAPLE WAS ON Orange SO THEY NO CHOICE BUT INSTALL THERE LLU NETWORK IN THE EXCHANGE HENCE SAVING THEM A LOT OF MONEY IN PAYING BT AND ALSO MAKES PROFIT BUY USING THERE OWN NETWORK,LLU MEANS LOCAL LOOP UNBUNDILLING AND IT'S EASYER AND CHEAPER TO FIND FAULT'S ON YOUR LINE THAN PAYING BT FOR A ENGINEER TO GO TO THE EXCHANGE AND FIND IT FROM THERE!!!!
I'm Warwickshire too - only about 15miles away from you, but I can only assume it's a coincidence that we are both having near identical problems on different Warwickshire exchanges...
Oh, plus my connection returned completely to normal around 4pm this afternoon.
Either the promised action of engineers has happened, or mentioning that I was about to request a MAC code on here jogged things along.
well don't think there llu is peachie cause i'm allso havin problems they have resyned my line to many time's over the weekend and now the DSLAM thinks there is a problem on my line so Orange have put me back to a 1mb profile my self,i phoned Orange yesterday and it was piont less asked tospeak to an engineer abut no can't be allow they say they can't get in touch with engneer's,so i will have to wait 3-5 day's of constant connection,before they increase my profile (di*k's they are)
No response at all from Orange 'support' so I'm requesting a MAC today.

Given that my connection is being throttled and that this could be because of insufficient bandwidth being purchased by Orange, I've emailed Zen about the likelihood of persistence in speed problems if I switch to them.
Probably a daft idea (asking Zen Sales "Are you going to throttle me?") but I can't see how to know which provider will work best through the Alcester exchange....
5.8 down speed this morning, but I know it won't last...
