i have emailed Orange about this but i was wondering if anyone else has suffered from a similar problem or could suggest things that could help.
recently online gaming has become next to impossible on this connection. the ping is fine (well it's 20-30 higher than any other isps but it's stable), but the connection seems to "cut out" every few seconds or so, resulting in a hlsw graph like this:
i used to see this on wireless connections but this is a wired connection and the livebox is right next to the pc. does anyone know why this has suddenly started happening?
your not on your own m8, ive also noticed a big difference over the past couple of months. Ive spoke to Orange and even had a BT engineer out to check the line which is good.
Ive also changed my router as i have a spare one here to see if that helped but it didnt, i only have one pc running.
I have had my BT profile? boosted upto 7mb now and im averaging 4.5 meg downspeed and 350 uploads?, my internet browsing seems to be okay, but if i try and download in the late afternoon, evening i might aswel not bother, getting maybe 15kbps which is just a joke. I use to enjoy playing battlefield bad company 2 but can no longer play due to getting booted for having a high ping of 400.
i will ring Orange again but from what i read it looks like there just piping / throttling the speeds as they say so where we go from here is a good question.
