I'm really confused as to why you think the inference was directed toward you tvman when QUITE CLEARLY in the sentence it is directed toward nhyder. Hence nhyder's name in that sentence and not yours.
Let me put it a different way - I wasn't infering anything about yourself otherwise YOUR NAME would have been in that sentence.

Read your quote, especially the bit that said complimenting other men . This was in response to 'nyhder's' post to me. As you assumed from my nickname that my gender was male you made this comment to nyhder on that basis. Quite clear to me. Anyway, lets move on and try to sort kremlik's problem.

kremlik, what does your downstream and upstream rate show as, connection type and can you run a BT Speedtest?
These help show the connection you're on, IPStream / LLU.

Todays results
IP profile for your line is - 135 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 1024 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 80 kbps
Also tried the methords surguested above.. rang up Orange again got told (well rattled of a set of instrutions) to run speed checks and got reffered to a support page which told me basically it's all my pc ('you should delete cashe files' etc) and nothing to do with the livebox itself when as i told the guy the livebox was showing low speeds and before he promtly put the phone down without even asking if it actally was helpful to the problem nor allowed me to reply (this all taking a full 30 minsto do!)..

I am absolutely astounded at this remark. You have never taken this tack in any of the other forums when this sort of discusssion has taken place. Equally you consistently ignore moving off topic subjects from other forums. See Sing Wanadoos/ Oranges Praises. I wonder why. If you are going to moderate in the manner you suggest in this post then please be consistent across the board otherwise it will be seen as censorship.

Ok those stats look better than they were before. It's an ADSL Max connection so it's the downstream and IP profile you want to keep an eye on. The downstream is a bit under the speed needed for a 1meg profile so it'll probably default to 1/2 meg. It'll take upto 3 days for the profile to move up though. Clearly though something is wrong, if you could find out what the MSR is for the connection then if it's greater than 1.5meg a line test should catch it as a fault.

I generally don't like interfering with things too much and generally there isn't much need to. I'm only human however and if something annoys me enough I will do something about it, though I don't edit or delete unless it's required or contravenes the site rules. As for not taking the tack before, if I'm going to start then why not here?

The good thing about this group is that there are very few arguments.
The point of the group is to solve problems so that the connection works. It is not always Orange's fault. The last 6 not working I have looked at were all down to set up of computer.
How many customers are satisfied is a good question, members here are a very small percentage of Orange customers. My LLU connection is still giving me a constant speed of 6 and the phone is working, so I do not really need to be here.
We should all recognise the good work of Elhana - now I've gone off the subject but the bottom line is that if kremlik can maintain a connection for 3 days the speed should go up. Leave the router on and stop re-booting it.
