Can anyone help - I have Orange email account that is linked to mobile phone. I have had it working fine for ages on outlook 2007 under pop3. I have also been able to read mails on my mobile or via webmail type log in with no probs.
Now for some odd reason my email account seems to have developed a problem. I no longer get text alerts that I have new mail, I can't log into my account on the web, when I use my phone I get my email in box but these show recent emails that were there prior to problem developing.
My outlook showed an error box when I was checking for emails that suggested the user name and passwords were wrong - well they are not - I have logged in successfully and can actually send mail FROM my outlook express (mail arrives correctly too).
I have checked the antivirus stuff and there is no enormous list of blocked emails either.
I considered how to clear a blocked email as per Orange guidance, but I cant get the webmail version to load up at all - it just times out with a connection type fault.
In outlook when I click send recieve I get the status bar update yet no mail actually appears in my box.
Someone suggested changed advanced settings re the port numbers - done that - didn't work.
Is the Orange server faulty or is there a problem like hijacked mail etc?
I am getting beginning to think it is a prob with Orange, but could do with some expert advice from you guys. Needless to say I am reluctant to speak to the call centre and incur all the expense...
Your best bet is to bite the bullet and phone broadband support to ask if your account has been locked or not, I know of a few people who have had their accounts locked recently because they (the accounts) were sending spam.
I work for <a href="http://www.maccodes.co.uk" target="MAC">Orange</a> and may be able to help.
If you can drop me a mail at customer.services@orange.co.uk including the address and your best contact number, I'll look into this for you.
So I can pick up your mail quickly, please add 'Jonathan <a href="http://www.maccodes.co.uk" target="MAC">Orange</a> Response' in the first line.
Hope this helps

FFS, this is a known problem now that affects lots of customers. Why don't you get on and sort the problem out? There seems to be no point in wasting time yet again speaking to yet another so called customer services advisor....
I think in the circumstances I am perfectly entitled to have a whinge about poor service. I am not alone in being affected by this problem, and in my opinion the lack of progress from such a major firm is staggering.
Yes this chap is doing his job - my whinge is nothing personal against him, its just a shame that some of his colleagues don't seem to be able to do their jobs!!
If you received this level of service from NHS / travel companies / utilities I suspect you would also be a bit miffed.
I reiterate - hurry up and sort this problem out - over a week without fixing the issue is unacceptable!!
Whinging on an unofficial support forum is not going to get your problem resolved.
Have you thought that your account may be inaccessable for a specific reason? I know for one that Orange are experiencing some spam problems through no fault of their own and have had to take action against a number of customer email accounts.
