i would like to know if anybody is getting anywhere near the 8meg wanadoo advertise.
i live 700m from the exchange and the signal to noise ratio is fine, as is the line attenuation. the modem sinks at 8.1 meg. but on average my old 2meg connection was slightly faster.
i have had my money and time wasted by wanadoos customer support. i do realise that some people here have more severe probs, but i would like to know why i am not getting closer to 8meg.

When I was connected (seems so long ago now- the good old days!!!) my router was saying it was an 8MB connection, but it seemed slower than my old 2MB connection.
After doing various line speed tests they were all saying my linespeed was just less than 2MB - I live 500m away from the exchange - I never got a straight answer from Wanadoo.
glad you entered this thread XtRa, i agree that a 2meg connection is better than none at all, but if my modem reports signal to noise ratio and line attenuation are fine then i would hope to get better than 2meg on an 8meg connection.as i am only 700m from the exchange.
i think the industry got wind of the Carphone Warehouse offer and everyone is trying to scrape in clients ......even if the systems are not properly in place.
livebox reports it
i think the speedtouch 330 will as well.
i cant remember how many modems wanadoo have had me try
they even sent me the livebox and promised i would not pay the exta £4
but that was another false promise, but after one payment they retitled there packages and the £4 is inclusive now.
but anyway those figures were from the livebox early today

For the speedtouch 330, the DrSpeedtouch program can generate a log file called drst_log.xml , open that up and you will find the values that you want.
I know you may have tried this b4. But try connecting your livebox, rj11 to the engineering test socket, located behind the faceplate of ur master socket. Although this will disconnect all other telephony devices in ur house. So dont have it connected for long! this can help diagnose where the problem lies. hope this helps a bit
